2022年9月18日14点44分台湾东部台东县池上乡发生6.8级地震导致50公里外的花莲县瑞穗乡各大超市受损严重。
台湾中央气象局报告称，当地时间9月18日14点44分，台东县发生芮氏（里氏）6.8级地震，震源深度7公里，位於该县池上乡，在台东县政府北方42.7公里。
瑞穗有四个生活超市，“正一大卖场”倒了很多货物，员工正在整理。但是“农会超市”是完全关门在整理，而“统冠超市”跟“全联福利中心”是把门关了一半，但是员工都在里面整理。超市有在卖酒，很多酒瓶已经碎了，其中“统冠超市”我进去之后闻到浓烈的酒味。
瑞穗的大桥是安全的. 瑞穗大桥是193县道穿过秀姑峦溪到达瑞穗的一座大桥。玉里大桥和高寮大桥都已经断开，所以从池上到瑞穗都必然要经过瑞穗大桥。很幸运地是瑞穗大桥並没有受到地震的破坏。
